I found tons of people with the same problems, but everyone's solutions seemed to differ, and non seemed to work conclusively. It's worked fine since then. I had time machine backing it up, then I excluded the hard drive.

Jun 2, 2012 I moved a number of folders from a back-up drive (using Time Machine) to the trash, and have had no success in getting them out of the trash. My computer isn't able to even recognize that a DVD is in the machine, eject a disk or anything else when Parallels is running. I had time machine backing it up, then I excluded the hard drive. It worked and verified successfully.
